World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also item upgrading which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Using a Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrade a piece of equipment it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea however it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This item is extremely important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs that are listed above.
