World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When a player improves a piece of equipment it will be replaced by a new item. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons, and trinkets) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item, it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. upgrade item means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
